Why share a SQL file as a link?
Code falls apart in transit. Chat apps reflow it, email clients strip the whitespace, and a screenshot can't be copied. A link to the file keeps every indent and character exactly as you wrote it, and the person on the other end can read it in the browser, copy it, or fetch it straight into a terminal.
Usually you'd be sending it to a reviewer, a teammate, a student or someone in a forum thread. They don't need an account, and you don't need to know which app or device they'll open it on.
