What People Publish
Most hosting questions are really questions about a specific job: getting a pitch deck in front of an investor without a 12 MB attachment bouncing off their mail server, putting a menu behind a QR code that can be changed at lunchtime without reprinting the code, giving a recruiter a link that opens properly on a phone. This category takes those jobs one at a time and says what the thing is, what makes a good one, and what publishing it as a static page gets you. It is honest about the edges too: a password-protected page with a form in front of it covers an early-stage diligence pack but is not a virtual data room, and a static page cannot collect an RSVP by itself — so each page says what pairs with it.

Annual Report
An annual report is the yearly account an organisation gives of itself: what it did, what it spent, what it earned and where it is going. For many companies and charities it is a statutory document as well as a communications one.
Brand Guidelines
Brand guidelines are the document that says how an organisation's identity may be used: the logo and its clear space, the colours with their values, the typefaces, the tone of voice, and what is not allowed.
Case Study
A case study is a short account of one piece of work: who the customer was, what was wrong, what was done and what changed. It is the most-used piece of sales material in most business-to-business companies.
Client Gallery
A client gallery is a private set of images delivered to one client — proofs from a shoot, a finished selection, images to choose from — normally behind a password and often with an end date. Unlike a public gallery, it is not meant to be found.
Coming Soon Page
A coming soon page is a single page standing in for something not launched yet — a product, a site, a shop — saying what it will be, roughly when, and how to be told. It exists so an address people have already heard about does not resolve to nothing.
Course Handout
A course handout is the reading, slide deck, problem sheet or set of notes a teacher gives a class, published at an address students can reach all term. It is usually a PDF or a plain page, linked from a syllabus or a slide.
Digital Business Card
A digital business card is a small web page holding your name, role and ways to reach you, opened by scanning a code or tapping a link. It usually offers a contact file the phone can save straight into its address book.
Digital Invitation
A digital invitation is an invitation sent as a link rather than a card — a small page giving the occasion, the time, the place and a way to reply. It travels in a message or an inbox, so how it previews there matters nearly as much as the page itself.
Digital Menu
A digital menu is a restaurant, cafe or bar menu published as a web page and usually reached by scanning a code on the table. It replaces reprinting every time something changes.
Documentation Site
A documentation site is the reference for a product, library or internal system: how to install it, how to use it, what each option does. Most documentation tools output plain HTML, which makes documentation one of the most common static-hosting jobs there is.
Event Page
An event page is the single address that answers what, when, where and how to get in. Conferences, gigs, workshops and community meetups all need one, usually before anything else about the event exists.
Investor Update
An investor update is the short, regular note a founder sends to existing investors: how the numbers moved, what happened, what went wrong, and what help is needed. Monthly or quarterly, usually one page.
Link in Bio
A link in bio page is one page holding all the links a social profile has no room for, so that the single link a platform allows can point at everything. It works best at an address you own rather than one you rent.
Media Kit
A media kit is the pack you send to a potential advertiser, sponsor or partner: who your audience is, how many of them there are, what the available placements cost, and how to buy one.
Microsite
A microsite is a small, self-contained site for one purpose — a campaign, a launch, an event, a report — living at its own address rather than as a section of the main website. It usually has a handful of pages and a limited lifespan.
Newsletter Archive
A newsletter archive is the public, browsable set of past issues of an email newsletter — one page per issue with an index in front of them. It gives writing that was sent once a permanent address, and lets a prospective subscriber see what they would be signing up for.
One-Pager
A one-pager is a single page that says what something is, who it is for and what to do next. Companies use it as a summary for investors or partners; products use it as a spec sheet a salesperson can hand over.
Online CV
An online CV is a full curriculum vitae published at a web address — the long document version, with publications, teaching, grants and talks, rather than a one-page summary. It is normally kept alongside a downloadable PDF of the same content.
Photo Gallery
A photo gallery is a page that presents a set of images for looking at — a trip, a portfolio, an event — usually as a grid of thumbnails that open larger versions. It is public: anyone with the link, and often a search engine, can see it.
Pitch Deck
A pitch deck is a short slide presentation that explains a business to investors — the problem, the product, the market, the numbers and the ask. Most run to ten or twenty slides and are sent as a PDF or, increasingly, as a link.
Preprint
A preprint is a complete research paper made public before, or instead of, journal peer review. It is normally a PDF at a fixed address that other work can cite while the paper is still under review.
Press Kit
A press kit is the material a journalist needs in order to write about you without emailing to ask: a description of the organisation, logos, photographs, biographies, and a contact who answers.
Price List
A price list is the document that states what each thing costs. It is short, it changes often, and it is the page customers check before they pick up the phone.
Product Catalogue
A product catalogue is the organised list of everything you sell, with the detail a buyer needs in order to choose: description, specification, code, image and often price. It can be a printed book, a document or a set of web pages.
Proof-of-Concept Demo
A proof-of-concept demo is a working but deliberately incomplete build made to show that an idea functions at all. It exists to be shown to a handful of people and then rebuilt properly or thrown away.
Recipe Page
A recipe page is a single page giving one recipe: ingredients, quantities, method and timings, in the order a cook needs them. Most are found through search and read in a kitchen on a propped-up phone.
Research Poster
A research poster is the large single-sheet summary of a study presented at a conference, usually A0 and produced as one PDF. Published online, it becomes a link people can open after the session instead of photographing your board.
Resume Website
A resume website is your CV built as a web page at its own address, so it can be sent as a link instead of attached as a file. It is a page meant to be read in a minute, usually on a phone.
Style Guide
A style guide is the agreed set of rules for how something should look or be written. In publishing it governs language and punctuation; in design and front-end work it documents type, spacing, colour and components with worked examples.
Survey Results
Survey results are the published findings of a questionnaire: what was asked, who answered, and what they said. Published properly, they become something other people cite.
Virtual Data Room
A virtual data room is a controlled space where confidential documents are shared with a defined group during a transaction — a funding round, an acquisition, a refinancing. The point is not storage but control: who saw what, when, and for how long.
Wedding Website
A wedding website is a small public page carrying the details guests keep asking about: date, venue, times, travel, what to wear and how to reply. It is normally reached from a link or a code printed on the invitation rather than found through search.
Whitepaper
A whitepaper is a long-form document that argues a position or explains a technical approach in depth. In business marketing it is usually the thing offered in exchange for an email address.
