What it is
About Enkihost
Enkihost is a hosting platform made only for Ruby. Connect a GitHub or GitLab repository, push to your main branch, and it builds the app, runs the migrations and puts it live at its own address, or on your own domain with an SSL certificate issued and renewed for you.
It knows what a Rails app needs: asset precompilation, database migrations, Puma tuning and Redis for Action Cable. Sinatra services and JSON APIs run in their own limits, and Jekyll blogs and documentation sites are free.
Deploys swap over only once the new version passes its health checks, so visitors never see a gap. PostgreSQL and Redis are a click away, with backups and connection strings set up for you, and secrets like Rails credentials and API keys are kept encrypted.
Who it helps
Made for
Ruby indie hackers
Ship a Rails or Sinatra side project with a git push, without setting up and maintaining a server.
Rails developers tired of big clouds
A platform built around Rails' own needs instead of a general-purpose cloud to configure.
Growing Ruby startups
Several apps, databases and Redis instances, with dedicated CPUs, autoscaling and an SLA on the bigger plan.
Jekyll bloggers and learners
A blog, documentation site or first project online for free.
What it does
The main things
01
Zero-downtime deploys
New containers have to pass their health checks before traffic moves over to them.
02
PostgreSQL and Redis
Provisioned in one click, on an internal network, with connection strings filled in and automatic backups.
03
Custom domains and SSL
Let's Encrypt certificates, issued and renewed automatically.
04
Deploys from GitHub and GitLab
A push to the default branch builds the app, runs the migrations and sends a notification.
05
Encrypted secrets
Rails credentials, API keys and environment variables, encrypted at rest.
06
Each app in its own lane
Memory and CPU limits per app, so one busy app can't slow down another.
