How to deploy VitePress

VitePress builds your site to a folder of plain files. Here's how to build it, which folder to publish, and the setup on each host.

Before any host

Build it

Run npm run docs:build. The site comes out in docs/.vitepress/dist: that folder is what goes online, whichever host you pick.

Worth knowing first

  • This assumes the usual layout, with the docs in a docs folder and a docs:build script. If your docs live at the root, the folder is .vitepress/dist.
  • VitePress needs Node 20 or newer.
